The RAFYC and the Hamble River Sailing Club are collaborating so that our Cadet members can take advantage of HRSC's newly reinvigorated RYA Training Centre. This is a most welcome activity and we look forward to seeing more of them enjoying this facility.
With a dedicated Chief Instructor, Andy Wibroe, there is now a comprehensive programme of courses that includes Youth Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, plus, of course, adult sailing and power boats courses. The price list is attached.
Throughout the summer weekends and school holidays they will be running a series of two and five day youth courses. There are still a number of places available and so it would be great to see our Cadets being able to take advantage of these.
In the spirit of our Clubs’ special relationship, the temporary membership fee is waived, so that they are able to participate in RYA Courses and Cadet Programme for 2010, as if they were HRSC members. This is a special concession for the RAFYC which is unique..
As in previous years, children participating in our RYA courses may also be eligible for a Flagstaff Trust subsidy.
When booking courses or taking part in Cadet days, a parent/guardian must complete a Cadet temporary membership form, including a mandatory disclaimer form.
Please remember on Cadet days that all Cadets must first sign in at the HRSC Clubhouse and their parent/guardian are also required to attend and help out by signing up for at least two duties per season - I run a schedule! If you look on the HRSC website you will see Cadet days and meeting times advertised. Please drop the Club an email if you would like more details of any specific event.
If any of your members are interested in the Adult RYA Courses, we are running an affiliate programme, whereby they can pay a temporary membership fee of £30 for six months and take advantage of course fees at member prices .
