Due to a prior commitment the Hamble Division of the XOD Class were unable to take part in the RAFYC’s main Battle of Britain Regatta that was held at the beginning of September. The re-arranged weekend was combined with the Richard Donald Trophy and held over the last weekend in September.

The AP for the first race of this year’s regatta, supported by 11 club class and 4 IRC boats, on a very, very busy Solent Regatta weekend, eventually came down lunchtime when the wind filled in from the east, allowing the RO Ian Redsell to set a course, preceded by discussions with the many RO’s to find space for our start line North East of East Bramble.

With the 80th Anniversary party only just behind us your fellow members are now focused on the next major annual event - this weekend’s RTI with at least 15 boats entered!

Well it proved to be quite a breezy day with a few incidents, though not as testing as last year; below are the RAFYC team results.

In addition J-Dream did very well in IRC, 24th O/A, 1st in Grp - Owen Parker Memorial Trophy, 1st in Division 1A and 2nd in Shepherd's Trophy

J/109 One Design racing gets closer and closer, as Just So is victorious in Week 4 of the Warsash Spring Series.

The J/109 fleet continued to enjoy close racing during the fourth weekend of the Warsash Spring Series. Once again the wind was light (8-12 knots) although this week it was more settled in direction for most of the race and the sun shone – perfect!
