For those not aware English Heritage has placed a serious of bouys to mark out a swiming area within Osbourne Bay and are requesting yachts not to anchor within this area.
The RYA have challenged this action - details available here - and are asking any yachts who have been requested to not anchor or move to contact the RYA and inform them of the details. |

On Saturday afternoon 28th April the RAFYC hosted 3 representatives from Eneco, who gave an illuminating presentation about the proposed wind farm off Swanage Bay, to the west of the Isle of Wight. Crown Estates auctioned off the rights to various areas of the sea bed off the Coast of Britain, and Eneco has bought the rights to develop wind generation on the two English Channel areas in a 50-50 joint venture with EDF Energy.
