Our on-line research Questionnaire is now open for your views on the kind of sailing you would like to do in 2013 and beyond. Although organised by the Royal Southern Yacht Club’s Sailing Committee, the results will be shared with all Clubs, Classes and event organizers in the area so that they can get it better for you.

For those not aware English Heritage has placed a serious of bouys to mark out a swiming area within Osbourne Bay and are requesting yachts not to anchor within this area.

The RYA have challenged this action - details available here - and are asking any yachts who have been requested to not anchor or move to contact the RYA and inform them of the details.

On Saturday afternoon 28th April the RAFYC hosted 3 representatives from Eneco, who gave an illuminating presentation about the proposed wind farm off Swanage Bay, to the west of the Isle of Wight.  Crown Estates auctioned off the rights to various areas of the sea bed off the Coast of Britain, and Eneco has bought the rights to develop wind generation on the two English Channel areas in a 50-50 joint venture with EDF Energy.
