Battle of Britain Regatta - 4th to 6th September 2015 - All Club Members Welcome PDF Print E-mail

This year's Regatta will be held on 5th & 6th September and the Saturday will include a round of the IRC Solent Region Championship, the entrants of which are invited to race in the BoB Regatta on the Sunday for an additional modest entry fee.

All club members are very welcome to enjoy the shore side activities, which include a Buffet on Saturday between 18:00 and 20:00. Tickets are £10 per person and must be purchased in advance from the bar or office. Live music by 'After Dark' on Saturday evening from 19:30.

On Sunday there will be a Carvery from 12:30 to 15:00 and Bar Food between 15:00 and 17:00.

The Beer Festival is open to RAFYC, HRSC, RSrnYC and WSC (RHCC) members, affiliated clubs and visiting yachtsmen, so please pass the word to your sailing friends in these clubs.

The access codes on the back door of the club and also the gate to the marina have now been changed. Please contact the office, bar or bosuns for the new codes.

 
Thinking of Sailing South or West for the winter? PDF Print E-mail

If you're planning on joining the ARC this year, or of crossing the Atlantic solo, or just sailing towrds Maderira and the Canaries, you may be interested in the Ocean Cruising Club's "Eastern Atlantic Cruise in Company".  This takes place from September to November, starting in Porto, taking in meets in Portugal and Spain, Madeira, the Canaries, and finally Cape Verde.  It is a free format event - participants can choose which parts to join.  OCC (www.oceancruisingclub.org) members are all experienced ocean sailors, so it provides an excellent opportunity for less experienced sailors to cruise this route informally, but in the company of experienced sailors, and to continue beyond, as most participants reaching Cape Verde will be continuing to the Caribbean.
